hold it with lotsa nopkings and skip gears when shifting - either 1-3-5 or 2-4-6
also, dont do it. this may be worse than fumbling with your phone or OUI

Btw guys, here's a video showing a not so good way to eat a cone and drive. She not only is eating a cone in her left hand, she's holding her phone in her right. Which creates a bit of a problem in terms of steering...

Back in high school (yes, we had cars back then!) my best friend had a Mustang II with a manual. First car with a stick I ever drove. He was able to eat a full fast-food meal and drive that thing pretty damn well. I never could figure it out. Of course he became an engineer, and I, um, didn't.

But really, I don't eat in the car. Or drink. Or let food in there except in the back, in grocery bags, from the store. I am lucky enough not to have a commute of any length, so there is zero reason to eat or drink in the cockpit.

The way I do it, I use my middle, ring, and pinky to hold the bottom left of my steering wheel against my palm while my thumb and pointer finger hold whatever ice cream cone or burger I’m eating. I’ll shift with my right hand and use my right hand to hold the steering wheel when cruising at a stable speed. Sounds weird but “it just works.”

I once ate an entire tray of sushi using chopsticks, dipping each piece in wasabi/soy sauce, all while driving a manual trans WRX. Steering with your knee is the way to go.

Also, don't do this.

cone with napkins in my left hand, and if I'm not shifting the right hand will move for steering support just in case. it's also how I eat cheeseburgers while driving lol
