So I am going to change to Carbotech XP8 in the rear, normally when you chnage brake pads for cars with electric parking brake you have to retract the caliper (For instance using VAG-COM on an Audi). So how do you do this on a Honda? Is there a similar tool as VCDS for Hondas?

Solid choice. I have those exact same pads on the rear of my SI.

You can do this one of two ways.

The first is just like you mentioned. You have to go to Honda or gain access to the OEM Honda scan tool (HDS) and retract the electric parking brake and put it in maintenance mode. That will unlock it and you would perform the service like normal with the vehicle off and in lock
Option two is a little more involved but does not require the use of the HDS
1) remove the electric parking brake actuator
2) You will see an exposed spindle for the caliper that the motor acts upon
3) Using an E11 Torx socket turn the spindle clockwise until it comes to a lock.
4) unplug the connector and remove the rest of the parts like normal
5) use a brake caliper piston compressor tool as you normally would on std rear brakes
6) reinstall is reverse of above but stop before you put the motor back on, make sure it is plugged in however
7) pump the brake pedal several times to make sure they are seated and all works
8) now install the actuator back on
9) turn the vehicle to on
10) apply the parking brake and then release it
11) turn the vehicle back to lock (off)

and you are done

Be sure to have the parking brake off before you start the service. I hope this helps.

So if I hope to do this myself, I have to have the car in the on position? As in, pressing the “on” button without the brake so it’s on accesory mode or whatever?

As mentioned by @RedGiant217 you can but yes it would be pretty pricey if you are only buying it for that and not make much sense.

Or you can remove the caliper, rotate the piston using an ebrake caliper tool (chesp versions available at auto parts store), then compress the piston as well and go about work as normal.
Glad you said this, would hate to have go to the dealer to get rear brakes!

Just so I understand you correct, you mean that I can still press and rotate the piston on the caliper to get it in, as long as the plug is pulled out for the e-brake. Same way as you do on a caliper with manual (non electric) integrated wire hand brake?

Does anyone know exactly what type of motor that is used in these type of electronic e-brakes? Maybe it could be possible to operate it by other means? Is it a DC motor?

Do you even need a tool to push in the piston? When I changed the pads on the front Brembos, I just pushed in the pistons with my thumbs. Are the rear brakes different in that a tool is needed to retract?

Yes, because in the rear you have a built in parking brake in the caliper!
