Hi everyone,

this may sound stupid, however I was thinking about it for long. New intercooler and Dow pipe are on the way. After the tune, it’s expected to see an increase in torque for my car. That’s great - I’m excited. New break kit and clutch are on the list as well.

I do fear that originally this car drive train + suspension was not design to run on 300+ nm . I know the type R uses a more complex suspension + a limited slip diff.
What is recommended in term of upgrades for the regular civics like mine to be able to put the power down and control the car as expected ?

Not a whole lot of European Civic owners around here. Do you have a manual or CVT? If you're just using a KTuner / Hondata solution you shouldn't encounter any issues as they take into consideration the torque failure of CVT.

He mentioned a new clutch so im assuming 6MT.

OP most people don't worry about suspension except for springs and swaybars. Brake kits are great for track but probably not needed for a daily.

An LSD is a great upgrade but far from necessary.

Some simple bolt ons and a tune you'll be fine, if you do start slipping the clutch which is possible then there are options.

i am driving a manual.
I was looking for an lsd , however I couldn’t find any for this model.
the Tuner who flashed the car, told me to think seriously about an lsd + a set of good tires if I want that extra torque to be fully under control.

Good catch missed the statement about the clutch.

OP if you are still interested in an LSD this thread might help you out. I've very rarely seen the topic of LSD swap come up though.

Better tires for sure.

Use Advanced VSA (KTuner).

Use boost by gear.

Mfactory makes a LSD for the civic X 1.5T .You can buy from several places ,even ALL4Honda sells them which is a local seller for you. ;)
I had a Mfactory LSD on my old civic hatch ,and they are better then the stock units. The most difference i noticed was better handling in corners (more grip). The straight line still depends mostly on your tires and traction control.

I suggest you to upgrade:
Rear sway bar
Front strut bar
Tires
Springs/coilovers

The you can think about the lsd.
What kind of power are you at?

thank you for the feedback
I run on 220 hp and 305nm now
with the intercooler + downpipe I expect ~250hp and max 350nm after another reflash
If I don't change the turbo (w1 or MHI03) this is where I stop

There's alot of confirmation bias going around when it comes to lsd. It doesn't give you "more grip". Lsd will actually break traction more readily. What it does is pull you out of corners more consistently, but open diff will rotate better in streets.
