I’m 53. Honda’s and Acuras most of my life with a couple of Mazda’s thrown in. Anxiously awaiting 11th gen Si and really hoping for a hatch option.

I’m 40 just got my 2020 CTR in August. Had 2 Integra GSRs in my 20’s. Had a bunch of kids and not so fun cars after. So I treated myself with the Type R!

Just what it says. How old are you. I turn 50 next month and just bought my 1st Honda. I feel like I'm probably the oldest dude here...lol. Am I. Spent over 20 years in 1st gen MR2s, still miss them. My 2019 Si Coupe, pick it up tomorrow at Carmax, is my new daily. Excited!

Just turned 47 about a month ago.

Hoping this last Type R purchase I made will satisfy the midlife crisis for good (although the wife isn't so thrilled about it). ?‍♂

I've only owned three types of brand vehicles for the past 26 years (Mazda/Honda) and an Infiniti.

Honda by far has been the most reliable.

Some of the cars I've owned are:
  1. 94 Mazda Protegé (1st car ever owned at 22yo. Almost conned into buying a bad, used 1989 Green Honda Civic and got chewed-out by asshole salesman at Ocean Honda in Santa Cruz, CA after refusing. Walked next door to Mazda and got this one w/no hassles and brand new.)
  2. 95 Mazda 626 (Gone- big butt, 2 bad trannies)
  3. 2000 Honda Accord 4 cyl Sedan (traded- slipping tranny)
  4. 2005 Odyssey (Gone)
  5. 2006 Odyssey (Still have it- traded former because newer model had mid-row center seat for 3rd child)
  6. 2008 CR-V AWD (Still have it)
  7. 2009 Infiniti G37 (Gone- Bad tranny)
  8. 2014 9th Gen Accord V6 sedan (Still have it)
  9. 2020 Type R
At some point I'll probably want to jump into a more appropriate car that will suit my age (perhaps a Mercedes mid-size SUV once the last kid is out of the house and we are finally empty nesters).

I like Honda's because they are fun to modify and I can still practice using my hands since my entire career has been hands-on working as an Engineering Tech for the past 25 years. Since I no longer perform that line of work and Covid has kept me out of the lab, I found a way to keep myself active. The mods are the best way to exercise the manual dexterity and keep the mind always thinking. Unfortunately though these are the things that my wife doesn't seem to understand.

I appreciate all the members here.

Everyone I've interacted here for the past year have been nothing but respectful and helpful in many ways. Large contrast in comparison to those FB pages that contained nothing but a bunch of immature trollers that have no valuable input to provide. That's the reason why I left those worthless groups. Instead of kicking someone while they're down, we actually pick each other up and have really good discussions and collaborations. I walk away feeling that I've earned some valuable information which helps me become a better Honda Civic owner and more proud and confident to own one. I know that if I'm ever stuck with an issue, there's always someone here to help without any hesitation.

Glad to be a part of a group that has nothing but passion and share a common interest, that is enthusiasm and love for the Honda Civic.

Just turned 54! My Type R is my return to fun Hondas after a break while they actually made something great again......
Previous to this,
2005 Mini Cooper S (started falling apart at 50k and was $3-5,000 every service due to failing stuff)
2003 Element Sold at 170,000 (loved it and only on 2nd set of tires!)
2001 Volkswagon Jetta VR6 - Amazing features and engine for the price but literally fell apart at 30,000 miles Traded it for the Element at a loss as so many VW owners were dumping them
1997 CRV when it was new concept, happy to move away from an Automatic
1995 Civic SI coupe - see below why
1992 Civic SI hatch - The best handling most indestructible car and benchmark for handling. I took quite a few trips so after 3 1/2 years and 165,000 the valve stems bent. Honda Service Manager bought for SCCA track car at non-blown engine price and I rolled into another Civic. Sadly, the 1995 handled like a non-SI and was not my favorite despite modifications to try to get it to 1992 grip.

Hahaha. I'm not that far behind you. 40 years old. I've had a couple other Honda's along the way, with a few other cars.

As for the Honda's, I had a '99 Civic SiR (Canada's Si) back when they came out. Then a 2000 Accord V6 Coupe when my SiR was written off. Was looking for a car just to drive to work after a few years, so bought another '99 Civic SiR. I am now driving a 2016 Civic EX-T sedan.

Welcome to the forum. It's helped me a lot when I have questions about parts, or just doing general research on modifications.

(63) here .... and shopping for a new car, possibly a Honda Sport Touring Hatchback, SI or Type R.
... my last Honda was a 1993 Prelude. Prior to the Prelude were 4 Accords, first was a 1979 hatchback and one Civic DX, and all of my Honda models were purchased brand new.

<><> go way back coming forward with all the Honda models in between <><>
1970 Dodge Charger RT / 383 Magnum / 4 speed with the pistol grip shifter (bought used)
1975 Pontiac Grand Prix (New)
1976 Pontiac Trans Am 455 / 4 speed / no AC / roll up windows (New)
1981 Ford Econoline Raised roof customized van (New)
1986 Mazda RX7 2+2 / 5 speed (New)
1970 Camaro Z28 / 4 speed / (Used)
1985 Jeep CJ7 / 4 or 5 speed / (Used)
1996 Infinity I30 / (New)
2002 SIlerado 1500 LS ext cab /(New) *** still own this one with about 72k miles
1999 Cadillac Seville / (Used)
2003 Nissan 350z / automatic / (New)
2006 Mazda3 sedan / 5 speed / (New) *** still own this one with about 115k miles
2012 Hyundai Genesis sedan / (New) *** still own this one with about 54k miles

Now I want to buy something new to replace my Mazda3 daily driver and it must have a manual transmission !!
You should have kept the 1970 Dodge Charger !!
