A lawyer should have gotten that thrown out without radar or pacing. Always get a lawyer! More expensive than a typical ticket up front but will save you on insurance, and it being on your record if you're ever pulled over again.
It ended up getting knocked down to 10mph over doing 65 in a 55 anyway, so I was happy to get away with that lol.

That would have been useful information to know at the time lol.
I'm just glad you're alive..I've done stupid stuff like excessive speeding so you're not alone. I tend to get a ticket about every 5 years, I'm finally slowing it down more and more every year.
I would send that magistrate a Christmas card for the next few years.

I seen a commercial on TV and though WTF I'm gonna try it and they saved me a decent amount. And I believe it's a better plan than I had with Geico.
This is a funny update. I called Liberty Mutual to inquire about their cancellation policy (to make sure they couldn't screw me going out the door) and got one of their retention specialists. They immediately knocked over $500 off my annual policy. Pleasantly surprised, obviously, but also a little ticked that I hadn't done it sooner. Still better than a sharp stick in the eye. :)

Must be nice, I pay around $300 a month with geico, i am on my parents family plan with 3 other cars too. Have a clean driving record, problem is I live in a horrible city in terms of drivers so insurance is crazy expensive. Dont really know the details of the plan tho.

Reminds me of many years ago when I was 22 I wouldn't buy a new $12K Honda Accord hatch manual because I was quoted around $100 a month for insurance. One day after I turned 23 Allstate quoted me $50 or $60 a month. I thought I'd have to wait until 25 to get such low insurance so I went and bought that manual 98hp Accord right away. Of course, being in the middle of Oklahoma helped out a lot.

I was originally not going to get a new Civic si for the same reason, insurance is expensive, was looking at RSX's. My parents didn't want me to get a car older than 5 years so the closest thing to it was a SI. Doesn't help that I live in the city with the highest insurance rate in all of California.

Wish I knew how so many of you are getting such low rates.
I'm in my early 40's, have only had a careless driving ticket, and my cost is about $180 per month for full coverage on my SI, and liability on my 25 year old Dodge truck.
I live in broke dick Arkansas, so its not like I'm in a high cost of living state.

I traded my 2018 EXT coupe for my 2020 Si coupe. Insurance went up $56 per year.

How many different insurance providers have you checked with? I had quotes ranging anywhere from the $775 that I pay now with Progressive to almost $4k from Aflac. It definitely pays to shop around.
