Car payment: $534.00
Insurance: $74.00 (Yes, it's full coverage - USAA)
Gas: $180.00
Maint(est): $20.00
Upgrades(est): $0.00 (usually)
Total per month: $808.00

I drive about 55 miles to work and back each day, so I really rack up the miles. 16 months and over 50K miles. The payment is high, but I rolled a previous car payoff into this payment.

I just took delivery of my sedan yesterday so I my fuel will be estimated:

Payment: $344 a month for 60 months.

Insurance: $54

Gas: $60 estimated

Overall cost: $458

Tack on about $80 a month for fuel and insurance on the S2000 and my total bill comes to about $538.

Not terrible.

Yikes $550 a month for 84 months? That wasn't a very smart purchase lol

Lol yea but I needed a new car as mine was giving me problems that would have cost me way too much to repair. The car I traded in was a base model car which was discontinued a few years ago so it wasn't worth much on trade and I still owed a fair bit. I bought that back when I was still in college so I opted at the time for the cheapest monthly payment on it, which was an 8 year deal. I still had 3 and a half years left on that car. Luckily I did get the dealer to throw in a bunch of freebies in the negotiation of the deal. I get the full 7 year 130k warranty at less than half price, free tint and free winter tires. Owner comfort package, rust and undercoat both for half price. And they also sent my car to be ceramic coated with the lifetime warranty coating at no charge. And to make things even more worth it, my insurance went down by 50 bucks a month and I save at the very least 60 bucks a month on gas compared to the old car. So for me I feel it was well worth it. Got into a more reliable car with good warranty coverage and it is decently equipped compared to the base model junker I had before. It sounds expensive but it was within my budget and I plan to keep this car for as long as I can.

Way less than my STI did

Payment price doesn't matter here since everyone has different credit, lease vs own, term length etc.
For me, I'm saving about $115 per month in fuel costs alone over my last car

Just redid the math. Monthly car payment is actually closer to 475 a month. Payments are weekly so I had to calculate what it would be a month and apparently I can't do simple math in my head anymore lol.
