Hello.

So first things' first, I am completely new to car insurance and everything about it. I'm 24 years old and I've heard that 25 and up is when car insurance rates reach their 'peak' in terms of it being cheap. I've never had a ticket before on my driver's license. Currently, I am with my uncle's insurance plan but I am sure it is expensive considering the number of tickets and accidents he's had throughout his life to affect the rates.

I plan on moving my insurance to another company under my own name when I reach 25 and when the current policy ends (which is around June). What is the process to applying for insurance?

So I guess the purpose of this thread is to be a reference for insurance of our 10th Gen Civics. I guess following the format below would make it much organized:

Name of Company
Model of Civic:
Age:
Location:
Rates:
Other Info:
So I'll start:

Name of Company: AllState
Model of Civic: Touring Sedan
Age: (current policy) 55
Location: Atlanta
Rates: $888/6mo
Other Info: Has 5 other cars under the same name

Thank you - Hopefully this thread will help others who need a reference about insurance

This is kinda like asking how much is your house worth...there are SO many variables...but ok.

Insurance Provider: ICBC
Model: 2016 Civic Touring Sedan
Age: 28
Location: Vancouver, Canada
Rate: $2640/year
Notes: That's WITH 43% (Maximum) discount.

A little background info, BC has only one insurance company, and it's mandatory to get collision insurance through it. You can get comprehensive insurance through third-party, but most people don't bother because it's actually even more expensive. Because it's not a private insurance company, they cannot deny anyone insurance coverage, nor can they base premiums based on things like age, sex, etc. Insurance rates are calculated through things like your make/model, # of doors, colour choice (most stolen colour is more expensive), area you live in, etc. Benefits are insurance rates for young drivers are reasonable, while the cons are it's expensive as fuck for everyone else. You get a 5% discount off your yearly rate for every year of clean driving, with a maximum 43% discount.

So in USD that's about close to $2000/a year which is about $1000/6mo. Expensive lol.

Liberty Mutual.
$68/mon. Full coverage.
Would be nice if you provided more info. But looking at your profile at a first glance, you have an LX, which is the normal NA engine; which is cheaper than the turbo (dunno how cheaper the NA vs Turbo is)

Intact insurance have bought a lot insurance company in Ontario and Quebec, their price are way too hight. They began to take control of all insurance company here, 2 years ago i was with an insurance company that been bought by Intact insurance and then they try to $$$ me 30% more. I left for another insurance company. Here intact try to buy everybody and after increase their price. Then you need to find an insurance company that intact does not already bought, very hard now.
