I would talk with your insurance company or look for a new company as the cost should go down a bit I would think thanks to all the new safety features of these cars. I just switched from a 2015 fit to a 2020 ST hatchback and mine only went up 48 bucks.

They told me, and I've heard elsewhere, that newer vehicles sometimes cost more with all the extra safety features because those sensors cost more if you do damage the vehicle. I think it's just an excuse for them to up the charge.

All of these prices will vary wildly with how much coverage every policy has. This isn’t an apples to apples discussion.

I went from a 2016 Jeep Wrangler to a 2020 Hatchback Sport and my insurance went up about 10%.

In Germany (Stuttgart area, but outside the city) I pay somwhere around 850€ yearly for car liability insurance and comprehensive insurance (CASCO here) together, after 6 accident-free years, I never had an accident actually, and I hope I never will, and with 30.000km per year driving reported.
But I can't even contact my insurance company in email or phone if I need something. If I have someting to report I have to go to a website and do some magic there and hope they will contact me. Quite a shitty situation, so I will probably change Insurance this year even if it will be 100-150€ more expensive.
The insurce classes (used as a base of how much you pay, the class depends on the make and type of the car) here ar very strange. The lower the cheaper, the higher the more expensive: liability class examples: Civic 1.5 Turbo class 15, Type R class 15, Golf GTi class 14, Merc A A180 class 16, Toyota corolla Hybrid 1.8 Hybrid about 130 HP class 19 (yes, nineteen!), a freakin Dacia Duster 1.5 Diesel with 95 HP is in class 20! Theoretically the classes are calculated by the probability of the driviera causing damage in other cars. That's what I was told at least. It's just hard to believe that The corollA hybrid car driver are so reckless, probably they drive a lot in the city, but what is with the Dacia Duster? That is a very low buget small SUV like diesel vehicle with 95 HP.
