I live in socal the average ADM is 10k-22k from walk-in experience till i found a dealership that was only marking up 5k so i jumped at 39k OTD i saw it as a good opportunity or never have one so i choose.

No body wants to pay ADM, but keep in mind this is the first Civic TYPE R ever imported in to the American soil. So the price of the CTR will skyrocket due to the overwhelm amount of demand. The cars without ADM are cars that do not create this much hype or demand. Simple supply and demand in economics. But i do understand the frustration most people have tho.
The price will fall when the demand is met. It won't take very long as long as the supply continues. MSRP will become the norm within 12 months.

There are 10 used 2017 Type R's on Cars.com ranging in price from $49,500 to $41,900, gotta love people who buy this car to flip, probably the same ones that scalp concert tickets and video game consoles.

Demand is very high still, people still don't mind paying ADM now, let alone even 3rd wave, many dealer has pre-sold their unit at ADM. Many dealer are now selling $5k over ADM, cheapest I seen and the one still selling at MSRP are 15 people waiting list deep... If Honda stop making 2018 in March, we don't expect the price to be lower than what selling now...

Honda is always very tight lip on these thing... I seen alot of 100k Car people wanting to buy these... they are the one who buy Ferrari, Porsche and stuff and $40k to them is much cheaper than $60-100k on a sport car..

Wow, lm impressed if 57% of us paid MSRP then what are the rest of you worried about. Wait call around a find a car at MSRP. Do not succumb to the hype. Be patient, save money and possible get a better car.

Neither has the thread I created that would capture the Type R sales. Seems nobody wants to share their deals. Which is much different than the 6th Gen CR-V owners where we were listing what everyone had paid for their vehicle. Here, everyone seems to be embarrassed that they paid over MSRP for their car.

St. Pete is only one state away for me, what dealership did you purchase from, maybe I can talk them into taking a deposit from me for delivery of a 2018 next year.
Crown Honda in Pinellas Park.
