I think for my usage, i dont have a lot of stop and go traffic, so the transmission is at its optimal temperature, the fluids are staying warm, not as many cold starts so less wear on the engine i cant say for certain how long this car would last but ive heard of people putting close to a million miles on their vehicles with the original drivetrain, i believe honda made a good CVT its able to be tuned with out the CVT belt slipping so for normal usage i suspect it lasting many more miles. And if not the car has already paid for itself with how many miles ive put.
Close to a million miles, huh? That’s insane! I didn’t realized these newer Civics could last this long ?.

But good to hear tho...

I wondered how much farther you can go before the engine and tranny goes out on ya?
Some posts for you:

One user had to change the CVT at 200k miles:
https://www.civicx.com/forum/threads/2016-civic-1-5t-cvt-replacement.56982/post-957581

A few posts previous there, I made a list with the CVT people who reached the most miles:

Quicksipper already answered your questions, but I find his thread very interesting anyway:

Got at 2016 EXT CVT with ~32k miles on so far about 3k tuned with hondata +3. No problems so far and just did the CVT fluid change about 1-2k miles ago just to be safe with the tune. No issues at all! Love the low-end torque and easy driving for the city but wish I had a stick for the back roads.

21,000 miles or so overall.

16,000 of them tuned on both KTuner and Hondata. Various tunes from TSP and Phearable plus the out of the box base tunes. Changed transmission fluid recently.
DO YOU EVER DRIVE YOUR CAR?? lol

A little under 38k in my 2018. Bought it a year ago with 26k on it. I will end up changing the trans fluid soon. Debating whether I want to stay OEM or Amsoil.

37k on my LX Hatch, not a single hiccup. Did my own fluid change at 30k, using the Honda factory stuff.

My 16 touring just passed 100000 but the tranny had some weird slipping recently. All dealer services and tranny changed every 30k. Yesterday my tranny blew driving home. Got the word today over $5400. They emailed the factory to request discount. Fingers crossed here.

Oh man that sucks, hopefully you'll get a discount on that.

I remember a post here, were a CVT replacement was $9000 at a Honda Dealership.
