There was a TSB about the brake system and it stated that if you don't use your parking brake within a certain time frame (1864 miles, 3000 km), the system will automatically engage and disengage the parking brake when you shut the vehicle off (it does this to automatically adjust the actuator).

Also, after a brake pad change, the service manual states to engage and disengage your parking brake 3 times to set the electronic parking brake actuator.
