Thats the best way to warm up. I usually let it sit for about 1 min when it's below 0F.
Sitting for extended periods of time when cold isn't the best for your engine.
In cold weather, I usually wait for the RPM to drop (usually a minutes) and then start to drive away slowly. Driving slowly will speed up the warmup process.

If I have snow to remove, the car will idle for a few minutes.

Car started fine but the clutch pedal was sticking big time ... there is a delay when I release the clutch and when it actually pops back up .... so cold

...over 24 hours now below zero, and we won't get above until tomorrow afternoon...maybe, if we get lucky - started out -14 this morning and dipped to -16, but its warmed up to 11 below now...thats almost comfy, lol.

-20 + in Canada, Si has no problem starting. Ebrake works as intended. People need to stop worrying about pointless shit.

I park on an incline, just want to make sure using the ebrake in near 0 temps won’t freeze overnight

Like the other posts, our 2016 and 2017 Civics have been starting just fine in the below 0F weather we've had the past few days. As others have stated, all lubrication is going to be a bit thick, so 30-60 seconds of warm-up, and then driving gently for a few minutes will be good. Also, remember to clear snow and ice from door openings, wipers, etc. When it is this cold, I don't wash the car, because too many things (windows, doors, etc.) can freeze.

So close...it was 0 degrees at 2:30 and now it is -2...next chance to get above zero will be tomorrow afternoon....didn't phase the civic, but it was in an (unheated) garage for most of the cold....and it is handling the cold way better than I am.

When you said 0 degree, is it Celsius or Fehrenheit?

Fahrenheit, sorry should have specified...
Good you clarify. 0 F is indeed cold.
I was in Montreal in the past few days and the temp was consistently below -20C (-4 F).

I don't see many cars fail to start from -20C, unless they have a weak battery. The cold exposes it once batteries get weak.

So there are many cars in the city may have week batteries.

1- Batteries may not be full charge if just driving around.
2- Many ( most ?) cars don't use Synthetic oil in their engine. Regular oil become like grease when cold, it is hard to turn the engine to start

I haven't had any cold start issues in MN. My windshield fluid is frozen though, so, I don't know what kind of fluid was used from the factory.
