World leading Honda tuners Hondata announces their fuel system upgrade for the FK8 Civic Type R. “This system is just what the enthusiast has been asking for”, said Hondata co-founder Doug Macmillan. “The FK8 has been on the market for three years now and many power adders like turbo upgrades and flex fuel have been developed which need more fuel. This system provides the additional fuel needed to maximize power and torque.“
The Hondata FK8 Civic Type R fuel system upgrade consists of hardware and software components designed to deliver 24% more fuel flow over the stock fuel system. This upgrade enables the Civic Type R to take the next logical step for a reliable, well engineered and thoroughly tested power increase.

  • High flow ethanol rated in-tank low pressure fuel pump
  • High flow ethanol rated low pressure fuel line
  • High flow direct injection fuel pump
  • High flow high pressure fuel line
  • High flow fuel injectors
  • Precision Hondata FlashPro software control
  • Multiple calibrations starting with an increase of 92 lb-ft torque and 59 hp over stock with
    intercooler and high flow cat.

Great job Hondata! A much needed product. Cant wait to see some of the builds that are going to happen now that the much needed fuel supply is here.

Thanks for the great work. This product looks promising and I'm looking forward to learning more about this engine's potential.

Obviously you'd like to sell as many fuel systems as possible, but can you comment on people that are interested in just doing a mild build and if the upgraded fuel system is necessary? For example, if you're just interested in an E30 flex setup with everything else stock, wouldn't that get you close to about 90% power of a flex + upgraded fuel system setup?

I can see people that plan to upgrade their stock turbos really benefiting from an upgraded fuel system.

Also, can you comment on the next bottleneck for this platform after the upgraded fuel system (both engine and others)? Stock clutch, stock turbo, etc?

The Hondata fuel system provides more gains for a stockish vehicle than you might think. Honda, for a stock CTR limits the boost and runs the engine at 14.7 air fuel from 2500-4000 rpm. The Hondata Fuel system upgrade allows for 2-3 psi more boost in this range at 12:1 air fuel, which (with intercooler and downpipe) translates to 27% increase in power over stock. This power increase is in your daily driving rev range. It is very noticeable.

The turbo is a bottleneck. If you upgrade the turbo, you need the Hondata Fuel System upgrade. We have to limit the boost on turbo upgrades with the stock fuel system to prevent lean outs and fuel pressure errors.

Will the kits ship for people who ordered them today. I know with covid-19 you guys are kind of shut down. Just wondering...I've been waiting on this.

Will the kits ship for people who ordered them today. I know with covid-19 you guys are kind of shut down. Just wondering...I've been waiting on this.

Hondata is running a skeleton staff for safety. One person in the premises at any point in time. The fuel systems ordered will be shipped. It will just take a few days longer than usual. The staff are working very hard to look after customers. To get some systems prepared for shipping one staff member came in between 11pm and 3am.
