Hi FK8 crew , I have a 2020 CTR went in to Honda and got an oil filter with part# 15400-RTA-003.
Is this the right oil filter ? been doing some google and everything shows up with part# 15400-PLM-A02

Yes RTA-003 supersedes to PLM-A02. 90% of the dealers here in Canada still uses RTA-003 while a small handful uses PLM-A02

Remember when opening the plastic not to push in from the hole on the top of the filter, the plastic can fall in and if you miss it the engine will suck it up. Be sure to tear them open from the side.

Not built to the same specifications as the Fram Ultra. Lower tier Fram isn‘t that great.
It's built to the specifications Honda requested for all it's cars. You really think they are going to put a junk filter on a car they have to warranty and stand behind the reliability of their cars with? I'm quite sure the OEM filters will do just fine and i'll trust the judgement and opinion of Hondas engineers over dudes off the internet.

I know I"ll get crucified for this, but hey...if it was good enough for JC... Supertech oil filters (yeah, the WalMart ones) are made by Champion and are supposed to be very good for a 5-7k oil change. I've used them on both SI's that I had and my goldwings, among other vehicles, and have had zero issues with them. Bob the Oil Guy rates them well, as do Popular Mechanics and several others.

People tend to over think oil brands, and oil filter brands.

Change both of them at the recommended intervals and your fine.

Frequency is more important than quality.

As long as your using approved oil and filters, the chances of an oil related failure are next to zero.
Never more true words spoken.
