My service advisor seemed to find it surprising that I would think it could potentially take any longer than the 2-3 day estimate he stated to hear back on Goodwill, so I'll definitely feel free to hold him to that. I'll even give him until next Monday.
I seriously hate to keep being a negative Nelly, but it is not happening. Goodwill will take months. Fix the car and pursue reimbursement

Do they reimburse in the same way they'd agree to cover a repair before it happens?
My case manager followed up with me pretty quickly after submitting the invoices stating they're going to contact the dealership for additional info and that it will be no longer than next Wednesday, August 2nd. We'll see what happens.
Luckily I think they recharged/partially charged me because the AC is def working a tad better for the moment

Who do you do tip at a dealership and why?
LOL! This guy got his car fixed for free! The dealership folks that he greases, worked behind the scene to get the repair comp'ed. Any other questions about why?

Ok so this dude just randomly tips the service people each time he goes in? I mean that’s great that he got it covered but tipping does not guarantee that it will be comp and what guarantees does this person have that the same service people will be there next time. If you are saying that he tipped the people when he had the issue with the car that’s one thing. But it just read as the dude just walks in and starts giving out money each time he goes there.

Of course, building rapport and tipping doesn't guarantee anything, other than a more pleasant experience at the dealership. In my friend's case, it paid off monetarily. And don't forget @Telly, where the dealer told him to pound sand regarding help with the repair because he didn't bring his car in regularly. Again, there is no guarantee, but as another friend always says, "you make your own luck!"

I submitted a goodwill reimbursement claim using mygarage.Honda.com some time last week. I got a call back from my rep Jake yesterday offering me $500 reimbursement from Honda for the issue.

I just took it because I want to be done dealing with it, and quite honestly $1300 for a major AC repair is reasonable to me. Who knows if I could have been able to get more if I pressed the issue, a wise man once said “never take the first offer.” Hopefully this doesn’t eliminate me from a potential class action lawsuit in the future.

Was this for previous work, or work that you need to have or are having done right now? I feel like their 10 year warranty on these parts should mean full reimbursement of the costs of repair, not just part of it?

It’s for work I had done a couple weeks ago. Not sure where you’re seeing a 10 year warranty on the compressor

The recent letter says the "compressor shaft seal" is warranted for 10 years/unlimited miles.. I would think if that fails the compressor probably goes too, and they know it but are trying to avoid covering it. I have an open case so I'm waiting to hear what they say. Mine was repaired two years ago (condenser and compressor) and is already low on refrigerant again and not cooling sufficiently. I can't decide whether to top it off myself or get it looked at.

Best of luck to you on your open case. I'm still waiting to hear back on mine and it was open on July 5. I freaking hate the case manager I got, she's never around when I call for an update so another rep just have to keep adding notes so at least I know they have a history log.

My dealer said the coils fried with no proof of the shaft seal leaking so it’s not a warranty repair. I’d take it in to get it looked at though. It’s too hot to ride without air

I ran an errand around 8AM this morning, about 77F, and it's blowing cold from the center vents. By mid-day when it's in the 90's it won't be able to keep up. I'm going to try a DIY recharge and see if that can get me through the summer. I loathe going to the dealer for anything. I assume I will have to at some point.

Once I get some reimbursement from the repair 2 years ago I might be less hesitant to take it in.

A/C Pro’s r134 a/c recharge is magic for old seals. I’d assume their 1234YF works as well

About time they shot out a warranty for the compressor. Mines been having issues since last August and I just refilled it every few months since I wasn't going to foot a 2k bill. Hopefully it's under warranty but I'm not holding my breath since it finally kicked the bucket and stays hot.

Funnier part is the dealer I go to for oil/fluids/stuff I don't want to do basically said "yeah we can get you in end of August" and shafted me. But one I've never been to was like "we can get you in first thing Friday morning". I love this car (besides honestly the cheap ass paint) but the fact that this is such a prevalent problem has me questioning how long this car will really last over 100k
Who received a letter stating Honda will now cover the cost for the replacement of the compressor as a warranty? Only thing I've been able to find so far is are the two TSB's released from Honda including: TSB 19-091 & TSB 23-012. If anyone has received a letter Honda stating they will cover the cost for the replacement of the compressor as a warrant, can you please share it with us?

In my case, I didn't receive a letter from Honda through the mail. I was told at the dealership that Honda is covering the condenser and compressor. The letter I received through the mail was about the shaft seal.
