Hey guys I got a question, I recently got a coupon in the mail from the Honda dealership about a $25 synthetic oil/ filter change and tire rotation on my car.

I thought I read somewhere once that Honda has two different types of synthetics, Ultra Snythetic and Reg. Synthetic, so I call the dealership to ask. The manager says they only carry one kind of synthetic. Can anybody confirm that it is a good synthetic they'll be using? I assume it would be but not to sure because 25 bucks for a synthetic oil change just seems to good to be true. :p

The idea is to get you in there so they can do a "complimentary" inspection and find something else to try and charge you for. The oil they use is fine.

If you don't have the time or ability to change the oil yourself, then it's totally fine. I usually go in on a Monday (weird work sked) and I'm in and out in less than an hour. Big thing is to check that they screw in the lower engine shield properly cuz sometimes they rush or are careless. Other than that, it's a good deal, imho.

Definitely. My dealership doesn't do that, but I have been to some that have.

The different types of synthetic oil are synthetic blend and full synthetic. Full synthetic is better, but I think if you don't abuse your engine and you change the oil when the car tells you, you won't have a problem with either one.

That people overthink may be true, but that all oil "comes from the same place" is definitely not.
