It depends on location. In Reno and Lake Tahoe area, STIs are everywhere. I'm talking about every 5 miles or so you'll see them. Hell, my mom's street alone has 3 STI within within 2 blocks. It's a place that snows, so that plays a huge role. Being in CA, I would think there would be a lot more CTRs especially since we CA folks like to pay ADMs just to have it now according to a lot of folks ;)
Honda hasn't produced enough CTR's to meet demand, hence the ADM. So there are as many in CA as possible to this point.

Cali will alway be a ADM state for the CTR unless you pick up a used one. Maybe later on for a new CTR would be lower price ADM but ADM nonetheless.
Right. Anyone who has at least been in the car scene for a good while should at least know how it works here in CA. I am baffled at how folks are still surprised at prices around here.

I'm not surprised. tbh I'm probably more upset about how the dealers are treating me rather than the insane ADM. The way they talk to you when you offer a MARKUP that's not as high as they want frustrates you. Start talking to you like an idiot and telling you "oh there's so little of them out here, you'll never get one for that price". You don't like my offer, just tell me you don't like it and then move on with your day. They seem to always want to add the final word.

I just want to offer a+4k adm and if they take it, they take it. If they don't take it, just say you can't do that price and move on. I don't care to hear about all the BS that you want to tell me after. A dealer i called in the valley area yesterday claims they sold their first Type R for 85k and the 2nd one they got for 65k. Like really? Even in california, I can't see how ANYONE would pay 85 when they could've probably went to any other dealer and buy it for much cheaper.

At this point, if you are willing to show up at a dealer and offer $4k, they most lightly will take it...have you tried walking into a dealer and wheel and deal in person?

Nope I have not. I really would like to but my #1 choice is a CW and I don't really want to drive over 1 hr+ just to not have a deal... most of the dealers around me in a reasonable driving distance has theirs "pre" sold or don't have a CW unfortunately.

CW is the most desirable too...so I guess try to work the deal over the phone first, then CC deposit if it works out, then drive to dealer...but you'll have to be really swift and direct. Dealing over the phone is a lot harder.

definitely. That's what I been trying to do. Agree on a price, and leave a deposit with card. I do agree with you though that actually being at the dealership would help me a lot but I just can't justify myself driving 1 hr each way. That's a lot of gas/time for something I may not get when I know they want 10k+.

For you, deal must be hatched out before you start driving...none the less, I think your situation is still promising! Just need a little luck now!

There is no way that a Type-R sold for $85k. There simply isn't. Total BS. Not even believable BS.

If someone is rich and wants it they will pay. They did for #00001
#00001 is a completely different story. That was for a charity auction.

Think about paying $60k for a Type-R (for reference, $67k would be TWO cars at MSRP), and then add $25k to that price. Unless it was car #00002, it didn't happen.

I mean, what's more believable, that someone actually paid $51,000 over MSRP, or that a salesperson is spewing BS? Maybe they forgot that a fully loaded Pilot was included in the deal? Wait, that would only be $44k.

Just take a few months off. It won't change within a couple weeks. Or wait til end of September when it's end of quarter and they need the sales.

Yeah. I don't mind a PMM also but my #1 choice is CW. I would jump on a PMM deal though if it's closer and if it's a done deal.

It really makes no sense to pay 85k. You can drive down to a different dealership and could've probably bought one for 60k+ if you were willing to pay 85k.

It's definitely bullshit. Especially when they tell you honda is making only 1000 of them for the united states.
