This could have been a much shorter thread had the first response simply had been "NO."

I agree. I've never understood buying a new car and then quickly thinking about swapping out the motor and/or transmission. I mean, it sounds good on paper but the cost/install aggravation factors are not worth it.

IMO, if someone has buyers remorse, instead of sinking many, many thousands into trying to make a car something it's not, trade it for something you'd like better. Or better yet, buy a better car in the first place.

Having said that, here's a good, basic plan for the OP's car...

1. Get a KTuner
2. Get better tires
3. Add some cosmetic mods

The way I look at it is if you have to ask this kind of question, you're not doing it.

Thats a 6-10k job, so your better of just keeping it and mod later or trade in. Just wait a few years and am sure people are going to figure out the k24 block k20 head swap on these LX civics

go with the accord 2.0 w/auto, just find a wrecked one, should be dirt cheap.
I was looking at this for guidance toward upgrading my 17 ext 1.5T. Could I pull off throwing a k20c4 or even k20c1 in there? It is a CVT as well..

Sell your car, buy one with the engine you want. There's literally no point.

The money in labor for an engine and tranny, and then the swap is going to cost you the difference of your car and a Type R.

This kind of swaps have to be done by yourself To save money if not any shop will charge over 3-5 grands, for it not my first swap. Am looking to spend not more than 3k, getting the SI o Type R for me is to much $$ on insurance
