My car has a valve cover gasket leak, and a coolant hose leak. (covered by powertrain warranty) And maybe some AC problem (not confirmed).

I took my car in today (Saturday), I was informed that the part(s) required had to be ordered. At best case, the work will be completed by Wednesday or worst Friday (Sunday they are closed, Monday is a holiday). I have Honda care and the service advisor said the amount of rental coverage is also subjected to waiting time (they did not have a loaner for me). But my reading of the Honda care contract suggests that Honda care will only cover according to "Warranty flat rate time".

Honda Civic 10th gen Honda Care car rental... 1599357885332

My questions are:
1. Will the Honda care cover rental starting Saturday until Wednesday or Thursday?
2. Since valve cover gasket leak, and a coolant hose leak is covered under powertrain, that means the dealer does not need to call the administrator for pre-authorization of repairs. Do I have to call the administrator now for authorization of rental? If the dealer confirms problem with AC, dealer will not call for a pre-authorization of repairs until Tuesday.
3. Is there a site where I can find how what is the flat rate time that is authorized for valve cover gasket leak, and a coolant hose leak? So I can calculate the minimum of time allowed for rental? (the service advisor told me that this job will take 2 hours, not sure if that is correct)

they should've given a rental right away. At least, they always did for me when I was taking in both of my hondas (civic and pilot with honda care). Just go to another dealership

I’ve been in a similar situation with a valve cover gasket leak a while back. The waiting game for parts can definitely be frustrating, especially when you're left without a loaner car.

Well, from my experience, it’s always worth double-checking the fine print in your warranty to ensure you’re not out of pocket for things like rental coverage.

If you need a reliable ride in the meantime, renting might be your best option. When I was stuck, I rented a car for a few days, and honestly, it wasn’t all bad. I treated myself to something fun to drive—it actually made the inconvenience a little less painful. If you’re open to upgrading your rental experience, something like a Porsche could be a cool option to get around while your car’s in the shop. You might want to look into it here: https://realcar.miami/brands/porsche.
