Howard County, and we hear groups of bikes buzzing down MD100 several times each day. Kinda surprised that I haven't heard any of them flip into the trees in the year-and-a-half that we've lived here.
Small world... I lived near Libertrytown (born in Bal’mer in 60s) over in Fred’s County, (ex-wife from Woodbine in Carrol) worked in Rockville, moved to (270 & 108) in Hyattstown at the VFD (EMT and Firefighter) to shorten commute so got to be close to lots of local and state police.
I knew abut the frequent speed trap that got me on solo vacay near Hagerstown but had forgotten just where, they reminded me 25 years later. I don’t miss thecPRM compared to FL.

Just read a local news report about some guy from Texas on a Suzuki motorcycle going over 100 mph according to the CHP and was reported doing lane splits by an eyewitness and then another eyewitness reported the guy's bike soloing down the freeway without its rider. The bike ended up blocking the number one lane and the guy was found down an embankment off the side of the freeway earlier today. I used to ride a Suzuki Burgman 400 a decade and half ago I would never think of going over 100 mph on a two wheel vehicle the law of physics are less forgiving.

Gotta watch out for those murdered out Chevy, Ford or Dodge SUV's or Dodge Chargers Ford Taurus's. If I see any of those, I'm examining them for extra antennas, stealth lights in the grill or inside the wind screen and those silver centered wheels. That's the give away they all have those
Wheels, If see any of them I move out of their way and let them pass.
I HATE black Ford Explorers for this reason.

My trick is to look at the plate. Doesn't always help from far off, but if they have an "Exempt" rather than a year sticker on the plate you know it's a cop.

Another consistent trait visible from front or in mirrors if close behind you are large displays (laptop, etc.) close to driver.

Going by info above, exempt might be a diff color decal too.

Some local/county departments down here have supporter armor. Those are round local LE Give donation get a silver dollar size moniker that attaches to a license plate screw.

Speaking of screw, that won’t put you in the same forgiveness class as the cops mom but is certainly capable of inspiring leniency since you must have cared once. They’re quite smart here though, issued annually (+$).

Well, it happened. I don't drive fast all the time but from time to time I do like to push it hard on the highway and see what my tuned car can do.

The other day, I was coming home from work (I'm an essential worker) and my commute home featured a great opportunity to air it out. There were only a handful of cars out on the road.

Anyway seeing no one in front of me, I gave it some gas. I saw some guy in a black Chevy behind me speed up with me and I decided to floor it to zoom ahead. And then the oh shit moment happened. At nearly double the posted legal speed, that black car behind me flashed their lights and pulled me over. Mind you, I haven't had a speeding ticket in over 15 years but I never got one going this fast. I figured I was fucked.

So the guy comes over and I can see he's not a regular officer but a suit with the state police. He says "where were you going". I told him I was a first responder/essential worker going home after a shift. He says "OK, but 117 is a bit much don't you think"? I apologized. And then it happened.

"I'm not going to write you up today, but slow down and stay safe".

Needless to say I was happily shocked. Hmmm, maybe he likes 10th gen Civics? I was beyond lucky.
"I'm a first responder". You're out of there.. Anyone else would have been hanged.

I can personally vouch for the F150's in AZ. Before I traded my beloved SI for a CTR, I had a meeting with one a while back. White pickup trucks are pretty common vehicles used by the trades, so you would not necessarily think 'police' you might think construction worker. On the topic, a friend of mine bought a Tahoe that was a former law enforcement vehicle, still has the crash bar in front, and he has gone through speed traps and they just waved at him. Hysterical.
I drive the CTR as it was intended to be driven, just like I did with my SI, but still watch my speed. Cruise is your friend. that said, corners and curves and merging or passing are still a joy. I will leave triple digit fun for someone else. I like my insurance rates and freedom. And while our cars and tires - SI or CTR - can certainly handle the speed, that still doesn't change the fact that on most roads something or someone could appear out of nowhere - and the accident you could have avoided is now a news item or obituary. So tickets and jail aside, it makes sense to be very selective as to where you use the 'premium accelerator'. I can get over a ticket. I could not get over hurting someone because of my bad judgement.. But nobody says you can't carry speed through the turns. Or accelerate smartly up to speed. I run my CTR in 'comfort for me' mode. I am 'comfortable' in Sports or R. Which is why I bought the CTR and even SI in the first place.
But yes, we need an Autobahn here. And way more road courses open to the public, not just special events, large groups, and exotic car experience companies. . I checked, the one's here are mostly closed right now. Not sure why, as clearly these are essential services, right?

I swear my Honda Element, being so boxy, had built in stealth (or the cop couldn’t believe it went that fast). I’ve passed cops using radar at 80-100 mph and actually seen them banging the side of their radar, like they couldn’t get an accurate reading.
Has there ever been a manufacturer that has officially built a stealth car? Not to be unseen, just to have the radar not recognise it.

Behold the F-117 Stealth car!

Nobody has a production car that can defeat Radar, it’s a Doppler thang (Cw or burst) you may not understand.

Escort (the Radar&Laser company, not the dating service one) claims to have an active, transmitting defensive system that works by scrambling the reflected laser signal returns by adding in very specific data to confuse the source and prevent lock on. The ZR4 can work for certain laser guns (leapfrog gaming though so effectiveness may vary by software/firmware updates to both systems). What Escort doesn’t tell you is this band, reserved for LE is illegal to broadcast on nationwide, if you get caught. Guess who gets trained on spotting it during qual?

Then there’s the snake oil dissipators like Veil. These infomercial ready coating products try to convince you they shorten effective gun range by splashing light in diff directions other than where it came from. Nice theory at least. Let’s say there were such products in existence, they’d not be out for public use, think who would want this emerging/attempted solution..

I'm pretty sure the magical non-reflective ingredient (actually it has more to do with angles not materials) is not in Honda Element paint. You may have been confused with a fridge delivery and police tend to not interrupt business vehicles unless causing issues.
I am sure this magical coating some believe exists to make dense objects invisible could be placed on objects (my job would get easier if it came in huge remnant roles) but don’t invest just yet.

Do you know where this Unobtanium comes from? It’s MIND!
(Sorry to go for the psych tech joke).,
