Installing invidia's 200cell downpipe and realised the holes dont match the OEM heat shield? Anyone have similar experiences? Do i need to wrap it or get another heat shield that fits?

I've run a downpipe (uncatted) without a shield, but cats run hotter. Problem would be obviously higher IAT unless you have a CAI. And maybe some melted hoses🤔

Any downpipe with out a heat barrier of some kind is a bad idea. Consider PTP lava wrap if nothing else fits.

Fortunately the factory heat shield fit nice on my current car when I installed a skunk 2 catless Downpipe

I'm making 600whp on a bare catless downpipe - iats arent much of an issue

What's better js to have it coated for sure but it's not the end of the world on a street car.

A giant intercooler and upgraded radiator are even better 😆 RV6 coats stuff - swaintech etc...bunch of coating options out there to reduce heat. The heatshield is meh but nice for stealth when hood popped
