HFP three-piece red garnish

The red garnishes are still in my cart… debating if I should pull the trigger for a month now.. ?

The Off-Brand ones look ok IF you get a decent set but that varies order by order as I know several who have purchased from different sellers on ebay, however the Honda ones are much nicer fit and finish, anyone who has the Honda ones can tell which ones you have. It all depends on your budget you can't go wrong either way. I don't regret mine. I have a decent set of new non honda extras I'd consider selling. They are just chilling in my garage full of parts.

They actually look the worst on a Red car. It's a love or hate thing with them. I think they go well as a part of my livery / Mugen Body kit but I agree I wouldn't do themwith no other mods, At least need CF Honda Mirror caps or Red works also.

I have the offical honda parts for the lower side door garnish and Ebay knock-offs for the front. Honestly I don't see a big difference in quality, but like you said, maybe I got lucky with Ebay?

The unofficial ones are larger and sit up from the surface some from the 3M the Honda ones are flush because the adhesive surface is part of the garnish surface, yea seller to seller there is quite a difference in the quality of aftermarket ones. Like I said only someone that has the Honda ones will likely know if they are or not if you get a quality one, it’s just very hit and miss for the low price of the aftermarket ones.

The difference is obvious. The oem one has a round off edge profile which makes it looks thicker, but the knock-off has sharp edges.

The oem one appears smaller to have a round off edge on top of the black grille before it reaches another round off at the grille.

I was referring to differences in quality. I understand that upon close inspection they can be identified. I'm not trying to fool anybody.

The difference in quality? The only thing you need to do on the oem is prep the surface to install it, but for the ebay knowckoff I think you described it pretty well yourself

So I installed the knock off version today. I've never seen the official kit in person so I can't make a direct comparison. The pieces seemed to be the right size. The paint was okay, although around the edges it wasn't perfect. I also had to trim a little plastic on the back where the mold lines were. I had to use my own double sided tape. I used 3M auto trim tape. It came out pretty well. For the price I was pretty happy with it.

Ordered the red oem garnishes. Pics coming soon. I think it only looks good on white or black fk8s imo. Can’t rock these with other colors… maybe the sonic grey

I really didn't think trimming a bit of plastic and providing my own tape was that big of a deal. My requirements aren't as high as yours.

Having the needs to do trimming or swapping out parts for better fitment or structure are big tell tell signs of low quality.

I didn't swap out any parts for better fitment. I'm not sure where you got that? I don't want to keep going around in circles with you on this. I posted pictures and a description of what I did. If people want to take a chance on an Ebay knock-off and save a few bucks they can. I only posted my experience.

I have a red FK7, thinking to get these too but just wonder how far they come up (thickness) from the original grill. Would love to see some more pictures on that from the side. Anyone has any closeups from the side?
