In terms of reliability and safety...

First off, I don't think Hondata or KTuner would implement the artificial knock rise removal feature if it was inherently unsafe. But here's a simple truth about tuning and reliability/longevity...

While there are exceptions, tuning reliability mostly involves two body parts. The brain and the right foot. And I'm being serious here. The same car, tuned the same way, driven by two different owners could have drastically different lifespans.

I don't think the artificial knock control rise removal is safe or unsafe. It will be as reliable and safe as the nut behind the wheel. I mean, if someone thinks this feature means they can all of the sudden drive their car like a racecar, they're in for a rude awakening.

On the other hand, driving like a non-maniac should be just fine.

No, I am not talking about the rise of K.con from 0.49 to 0.6x

We have tested in Indonesia with Mainline Dyno, by installing bigger FMIC, after few runs, the chart shown consistent power, difference only 3-4 Bhp compare to Stock Intercooler, the difference after few pulls can make it drop up to 10-15 Bhp.

Your talking about power drop right?
Stable IAT2 will make power consistently, regardless of K.con rises up little bit.
David already have a PRL FMIC. When we measured our power even with good IAT the knock control rise make subsequent passes less powerfull limiting power potential in all the range, of course it doesn't feel as big of a power drop as if it were IAT2 limited but you could be loosing 3 to 6 hp and 10nm on the stock turbo and maybe more with a big turbo.

To clear things up, some folks may say "so we have to drive like granny"

Of course not.
Even Porsche GT3 RS will be fucked after hours of abusive drives.

I see.

Do you really notice the power loss, David? Or it is very hard to notice?

Yes, you do notice. Around the kind of power @kytos said.

So, if hondata released it and Ktuner is working on it, it "should" be safe.

Even if they released this, I would only use it if my tuner said it could be safe to do so.

I still wonder about the amount of power this could give in the top end of the rpm range.

Interesting discussion here folks. The forum is quite on fire today, haha

did a quick test pull on second after some changes on beta software, works just as fine not much issues on CAPTS Stage 1 Turbo - RON 97
sorry for the poor quality vid & for those who are discussing about power loss, i did not feel any from my skinny butt dyno.
It's a non-Si but a hybrid custom engine build from CVT to MT on a non Si ecu.
even if the kcont does not go up the ign timing is still being somehow "limited" with what we call the "artificial knock"

Yes. I would not risk my car, I realize that this is 1.5 L L15 turbocharger, not a V10 engine ?

Today is really really on Fire HAHAHA

Available on the website. If you have a custom tune consult your tuner.
For tunes partially locked I assume they are locked as well.
EDIT: Confirmed myself.

So just to be clear, this option isn't available on TSP and Phearable ots tunes, correct?

Btw, thanks for the new update JR.
