*Help* Sound Completely Cuts Off in 2016 Honda Civic EX

This problem has been happening for a few months on and off now. The sound in my 2016 Civic EX completely shuts off across the board (the sound from pressing buttons on the infotainment system doesn't even work). I try to reboot and restore factory settings and this helps the problem sometimes, but the majority of the time the problem persists. The problem usually happens when the volume increases or there's a lot of bass during songs. I was wondering if there was an update years ago or if anyone has found a solution to this problem. I believe it's a bad amp, but that's just my guess (correct me if I'm wrong, but the amp is in the head unit right- so I would need a whole new head unit?).

yes, the amp is in the unit.
maybe the amp is overheating and the unit then shuts it off.

if you wait a bit(without rebooting) does the sound come back?
if you reboot it, does the sound work again immediately?
