My OEM pads went metal to metal in <1800 miles and 3 HPDE events.

I followed #flyinggatos video which said nothing special is needed.

When I replaced the driver's side, I set the brake and then the messages came up on the DIC and the emergency brake light began flashing.

I used a code reader but did not find any codes.

I reset the battery to no avail.

I found another set of instructions that said without HDS (it goes into some sort of pad change calibration), you remove the emergency brake and spin the spindle until it locks. On the left side, it just kept spinning, so I simply put it back on.

Working on the passenger side now.

The electronics in this car are very difficult to work around. I have another track event this weekend and don;t know if this will affect braking or if I need the dealer to get it into the calibration mode.

Any suggestions would be helpful!

What a PITA!

The XP8's in front have worked great with 2 track events.

I will probably switch to the XP10's when these go.

I am back instructing at VIR this coming weekend and will test out the care with the XP8's in the rear.

Just tooling around on the street, there is a lot of braking available. :)

Duralast is probably fine for the street but I definitely would not use them on the track.

Just like the OEM front pads, the rears are not up to serious track duty, overheated, and disintegrated/broke apart as you can see in the picture.

Hey there OneSickFK8,
Tried sending via pm...but that option isn’t available for some reason.

I did an extensive write up with photos here. Please take a look, may help:

https://www.civicx.com/threads/fatherpain’s-2018-type-r.42379/

About 3/4 down page 1.. then continues to page 2.

My Autel AP200 will be here today. After I put it in maintenance mode and do the pad replacements on the rears. Do I need to pump the brakes before taking it out of maintenance mode?
