The ideal place to install an oil temp sensor is in the oil pan. You can easily find fittings that replace the drain plug. OD is M14 x 1.5 and ID is 1/8" NPT. That's how I installed an Autometer oil temp gauge in my Subaru. Just make sure the inner bore is big enough to fit the sensor's tip.

Note: Second item below will not work.

Anyone know what size thread this is?

I thought it would be 1/8 BSPT like all the old school Hondas but it isn't.

The top one in the photo is the Defi Oil Pressure Sensor. It is 1/8 BSPT.

Bottom is the OEM oil pressure switch.

Chris, just wondering if you ever found the answer to your question. I'm still trying to figure out what to use for the OEM oil pressure sensor port on the block..

OK, thanks Chris.
If anyone else ever figures out the thread size of the oil pressure sensor on the back of the engine block please post up
