Hey all,

I need some advice here. I'm in the process of moving to Canada and I plan to import my '17 Civic with me. I have already contacted HFS who said they would not allow the car out of the US, so I will refinance it with Capital One when my landing date is approved. Capital One said they would provide documentation allowing it into Canada if I keep my US address as well. I spent time in between both countries and my US address will still be my address, but I am getting PR status for Canada within the next 12 months and need to start getting my ducks in a row.

Does anyone have any experience with importing a financed car from the US to Canada with HondaCare? I know all the disclosures for my HondaCare state that that my warranty is valid in US, Canada and Puerto Rico, but there are no other stipulations listed. Should I just consider cancelling the extended warranty before I move and then purchasing a HondaPlus or aftermarket warranty in Canada?

Thanks for all your input in advance.
