To say they're garage cars is an exaggeration. The refinement, luxury, comfort and technology today is not the same as yesterday. Every car manufacturers have to raise those standards every time they introduce a new model. People tend to get that mixed up with being "soft", "non-direct" and "not raw enough". Not everyone wants vibrations in the cabin, hear engine noise and feel everything on the road. I have some horrible experience with BMW service department as well, but the amount of cars they service daily, things will happen. Majority of luxury car owners don't do work on their own car. Horrible stories happen everywhere at every dealership.I was a bmw insane enthusiast nutjob from 2000-about 2014. Owned 15 of them. Still have a slick top E46 M3. The last of the greats. Take my advice. Do NOT buy what the suv-loving BMW has become. They make absolute garbage cars now. I am in the service industry with heavy ties to the local BMW service center. The stories are horrifying. You think Honda has gone soft of reliability? Boy do I have stories for you.....
