As the title says, when I have only my DTR and side marker lights on (one position up on the light selector knob), when I turn the light selector to off, my headlights release a quick flash - basically like a camera.

It doesn't happen every time, but it's often enough that it's concerning that something is wrong in the wiring.

Anything I should check out to stop this?

Gotta' ask... OEM or aftermarket bulbs?

And any other electrical or transmission mods?
Curiosity got the best of me so I tried this and mine do this as well. I never noticed it before because I always keep mine in auto.
I’m guessing it’s not an issue.
I’m running Cougar Motor LEDs.

Well shit, I have Cougar LEDs too. Kind of hard to ignore that coincidence.

Still though, if the light selector isn't even sending power to them, why the hell would they flash? Makes no sense...

I'm wondering if there's not some capacitor in the bulb's electronics that's discharging once power is cut.

Hmm, well, I emailed the company to see if they've heard of the issue. If not, I guess I'll look into some of those adapters.

Appreciate the help guys!

Just an update for posterity, in case anyone else ends up searching for this issue.

The company sent me resistors and decoders to try, and neither of them worked. I have since removed the LED bulbs, and reinstalled the factory bulbs, and I am still having the light flashing issue.

So, unfortunately, it looks like this is a 10th gen Civic problem, not a Cougar Motor problem.
