My 17 Civic si sedan needed new rotors and pads at 45k miles. Did some research and went with hawk street 5.0 pads with centric rotors (front and rear).

I'd post pics but there's no visual difference.

Bedded them in and took them for a run. Compared to the stocks they hold heat way better. Not as much initial bit which is expected for a trackish pad. I went the a "blank" set of cheap rotors because from my experience drilled or slotted rotors look cool but don't make an appreciable different to justify the costs. Going to put it on track later this year. I'll report back.

How is the dust with the Hawk 5.0 pads? My 2017 SI is ready for new pads up front and I was planning to go with these or the Stoptechs.

Worse than the OEM (obviously)but not to bad. Here's a pic of the fronts after bedding and 5 days of driving.

Probably Road Atlanta but may end up at Atlanta Motorsports Park depending on what's available this fall.

Yes, the 5.0 is better than stock, but that's not a high bar. The dust is also extremely bad.

f you're trying to upgrade for performance, you're better suited dropping the HPS 5.0 and getting something like EBC Redstuff.

I had the HPS 5.0 on my current Civic Si and I truly was hoping they'd be better than HPS and HP+ that I've tried years ago on my E36 M3. It wasn't. The HPS 5.0 feel wooden even though they're better than stock, and they emit a ton of bad metallic dust that eats away at not only paint, but also your wheels' finish because they're Ferro-carbon material.

I strongly suggest you drop the HPS 5.0. I wish Performance Friction made something for the Si.
