Hi Everyone,

I need some advice: so I got some pricing for an EX from my dealership.

Vehicle Selling Price $23,635.00
Sales Tax (estimate) + $1,899.52
Documentation Fee + $80.00
Tire/Battery/MVWEA + $8.75
Weight Fee + $8.00
Tag/Registration Fees (estimate) + $225.00
Electronic Filing + $29.00
Flat Add/County Fee + $10.00
Smog Abatement Fee + $20.00
Customer Deposit Edit
Balance Due (estimate) $25,915.27

Location: LA/Orange County

I checked truecar.com, and they actually had this "$1050 off MSRP (hatchback EX) guarantee certificate" for the same dealership. I emailed the dealership with my certificate and they said that they would honor the certificate. Therefore, I calculate it to be MSRP minus $1050 = $22,635 (So my estimated balance due would be 25915.27 minus 1050).

So I'd like to know if you guys had any tips or any "watchouts" when I go in tomorrow to make the purchase. I've heard that they accept the truecar guarantee but make up for it by throwing in all these random addons, etc.

I have an auto loan so I'll basically be a cash buyer.

Thanks for your time.
Tell the dealership to throw in all-weather floor mats and protection package for free!

A local dealer got in a Sport hatch with a manual but won't budge on MSRP. Sucks.

Just got mine yesterday. Bay Area dealers are trying to charge 3-4k over list on the sport models and 2k over on the regular models. Actually one of the dealers I went to had a mark up on every Honda they had in the showroom, base civic, the van, the truck, etc. It was ridiculous. The dealer I got mine from was trying to add a "protection plan" on all their cars which was a markup of 2k-3k for the plastic door sill protectors, wheel locks, and the cargo net. They couldn't really explain it. I ended up getting them down to cost for those parts and paying MSRP for my SGP sport. (even though I would have rather them never put the cheap plastic door protectors on. I plan on removing them anyways)

Northern illinos area sport model with 6 speed is very rare, still trying to get the best deal possible. so far this is what I've been quoted:
Black 20630 + tax/fees OTD 22477
Blue 19829 + tax/fees OTD 21685
They both obviously have exact MSRP and I won't be adding any dealer "add ons" do these seem like good prices

My daughter is planning to buy HB Sports CVT in the new year.
I am doing some research for her regarding pricing and dealerships around Cupertino and Sunnyvale area (NorCal).
Anyone here have experiences (good or bad) with dealerships around 95014 area code and what kind of pricing you get?
Thanks.

After searching on and off I finally found a sport with manual trans, just drove it home. Msrp 22135 the dealer came down to 20630 they swore up and down it was invoice price and all they were making was the hold back money. I didn't care 1500 off sticker on a car that is pretty hard to find seemed like a good deal.

I ordered it on Saturday, today another dealership called me and said they can beat the price ($28,083) - i didn't tell them i already ordered it with another dealer.

They gave me their quote - $27,500 - I called my dealership and told them i got a better offer. They adjusted the price on my order to FINAL OTD price to $28,202.96

Dealer also offer 30-day price match guarantee. Therefore if i get a better deal i can ask them to adjust. I think I did okay.
