Hi, I'm new to this car part searching so I need some help.
Does anyone know the OEM part number for shock damper support for the trunk?
Is it the same as the ones installed on a normal fk7 Hatchback?
Many thanks!

The type r has stronger struts because of the stock High spoiler. It’s more heavy duty. The fk7 has a lighter hatch door.

I have FK8 trunk shock/dampers on my FK7 because i have an Type-R wing and wanted something stronger.
The only problem with this modification is that they are shorter then FK7 original so the trunk only opens 70% of what it should.

I'm planning to do exactly what you did. Installing the FK8 spoiler then change the shock/dampers to FK8 version. But damn i didn't know that it'd only open 70%! I wanted it to open all the way with strong pressure.......did you find a solution?
I tried searching for a 3rd party one but couldn't find any.
I just know the FK7 strut is 22.5" long from one end to another.

I was very interested until I read the next post about this version being shorter than the FK7 version so it only opens 70% of the way.....That's a big blow..
Did you happen to use a better version of the shock/dampers?

Here is some pictures.

The first 1-2 is FK7 shocks.
And nr 3-4 are FK8

I can take some pictures today when they are installed on my car so you can see how much the trunk will open with FK8 shocks, i also think that FK8 have other mounting point for the shocks and thats what making the trunk dont open full.

Are you saying that the mounting holes for the fk8 on a type-r is different than the holes on the fk7 hatchback? If that's the case if we drill the holes in the right places then we can open the trunk full like the fk8? Coz if that works then I'd happily do it.

Thank you so much for your ongoing assistance. I really appreciate it!

The mounting points must be different on the boot lid since they look the same on the car.
As you can see the shocks are pointing more upwards on the FK8.
I dont think you can drill new holes :(

hmmm you're right. I wonder if there is a picture showing the other end of the mounting point.
