Thanks. I guess KTuner needs to update their version history page as it still shows 1.0.9.9 as the newest software version.

Hey guys. Brand new to tuning, just got a used Ktuner last week!

Has anyone tried limiting the TSP Stage 1 Map 3 to 21psi using boost by gear? I’m looking for something between maps 2 and 3 and wondering if this would be a nice middle ground. Any thoughts?

I got a bone to pick with TSP-1

I added a catless downpipe and now map 3 is almost useless on anything but perfect dry straight roads (at least until I upgrade my crappy tires :D ). If I floor it in 2nd or even 3rd I get traction loss. I hadn't really noticed lack of an LSD until now! It's been wet lately so I've been leaving it on map 1 or 2.

Joking aside, the power is pretty impressive and fun. My next mod will be stickier tires for sure.

Are you using Advanced VSA?

Ummmm... I don't think so? Should I be?

The only thing I've changed in the tune is I set 5th and 6th gears to stock boost levels.

Yes. See if that helps before you use the aggressive setting.

Thanks for the tip. It still breaks loose pretty easily in 1st but now I can floor it in 2nd and it just pulls hard.

Around town and at lower RPM, it feels SMOOTH. The power is there, no question, but at first I was surprised it didn't feel more "snappy". Again just an initial observation. Driving a bit more I began to get a better feel for the tune. Basically, you press the throttle around town and it goes nicely (and seemingly with little to no discernable lag). Under 3500 rpm it basically feels like a smoother version of the Ktuner 21 with aggressive adjustments. Put your foot into it a bit deeper and away she goes.

The tune really wakes up above 3500 rpm and especially after 4000 rpm. You go from a smooth and polished low rpm feel to a bit of a monster. It's very impressive. Fun and confidence inspiring at the same time. I never pushed the tune too hard but I can tell you a nice little pull I did from 55-100 mph put a smile on my face!
Your assessment of this tune is spot on . Like you , I wish it had a little more between 2-3500 rpm , but I understand why it doesn't and I can appreciate that . My fuel mileage has gone up as well .

Running the stage 2 and the starter 21 psi first , will spoil you with that low and mid range . I will probably stay with the TSP stage 1 , unless they give us a 1.5 like the SI .

Once again , thank you for all of your input gtman
