Hi everyone. I've been noticing this grinding/metallic scraping sound whenever I accelerate the car after not driving it overnight. I barely have to put my foot on the pedal and so I'm estimating that it starts making the noise over about 2k RPM. Hard to describe but it sounds like something is trying to spin but there's some friction involved. The sound is definitely on the driver's side and I could feel a slight vibration under my foot on the pedal whenever I hear it. Sound goes away after the car is warmed up after a minute or two. Does anyone have an idea what it could be?

I'm just guessing. But maybe it's a worn shock and the sound is the spring rubbing against the car frame?

If so... I'm thinking you could replicate it by pressing down on the area over the wheel well.

I suppose it could also be a motor mount or the exhaust system flexing as the engine torques back and forth.

Good luck with it. And please post the solution when you discover it.
