Big changes going down tomorrow! Finally installing my turbo blanket, PRL DP and FP. Also got the new 2020 CTR radiator while I’m there.

I also got Hondata again so that’ll be fun to have back and got a mugen front lip. I wanted it to match my fake cf OEM side skirts and rear so I wrapped it in 3m cf vinyl. Love how it came out I’m still trying to decide on adding a red pin stripe or to remove it from the sides and rear hmm

Last but not least, working on making the hood vents work better so my brother is designing these to help with it. Almost ready to install will be one piece and look like this FD when finished.

Great read! Are you back on the stock intercooler now? It will be interesting to see the 2020 radiator vs 17-19.

Yup sold the PRL when I was returning it to stock. I’ve been 100% stock as far as power goes until later today I’ll change that again.

Has anyone run the secondary cooler (radiator) from Mishimoto or the oil cooler?

I have a 2020 incoming and am looking to track the car regularly and am looking to keep it cool. I have been reading everyone's track builds and it always seems cooling is always a problem. Trying to learn as much as I can before I ask questions. Thank you in advance.

-Just trying to figure out what mods give the biggest cooling benefits.

-Hood Venting?
-Oil Cooler (HKS or Mishimoto?)
-Secondary Mishimoto Radiator?
-Intercooler? (Does this help or hurt overall vehicle cooling? I am sure it will help prevent heat soak in the engine power-wise, but is going to a larger intercooler going to make engine cooling worse on track?)

- Hood venting is huge.
- Oil cooler is a MUST. I’ve had the Greddy and now HKS and would say get the hks hands down. Mishimoto is on par with Greddy but you lose the brake duct go HKS.
- secondary radiator I’ll be mounting my own in the passenger side vent area I don’t think the mishimoto does enough where it is hidden
- intercooler cools air intake temps and does not effect engine coolant temps or oil temps at all. If anything a larger intercooler just blocks radiator flow making you overheat sooner. You also want a intercooler to keep from loosing power though.

Thank you for the advice!!!! HKS oil cooler and hood venting. I think I will order (or look for another used) oem hood to install venting on. I know the venting has helped our race car stay cool all day! Helps getting the air through the radiator.

Thanks Grimace, so is your plan to go back to an aftermarket intercooler and do you recommend them? In particular for us mostly stock guys? I saw on your posts that you didn't feel like it had helped in a substantial way, but you also mentioned that outdoor temps could have been different from when you ran stock compared to aftermarket. Thanks a bunch for all your info, you've certainly put in the work.

Going off my lap times adding the PRL stage 1 intake, PRL intercooler and Hondata OTS map I noticed almost zero changes in lap times at thunderhill and mostly just noticed overheating faster.

It was also different days, different temps, but overall was pretty similar.

I have knocked out every cooling mod I wanted now except my custom mounted secondary radiator in the passenger grill area but that is on hold until my brothers work is back open as I need some custom machine shop made pieces to do it how I want.

So for now I’ll likely be doing some power mods again and a 27won intercooler is near the top of the list.

All done! Got to love doing exhaust work my car looked like it was on fire after getting warmed up and stuck at a light lol.

I should’ve got more photos but this went later than expected. Heat wrapped/ taped a lot of key stuff I think I’m ready even for summer track days :scared:

Well I got Hondata again. Got it installed again yesterday and got the car all detailed up. First time waxing it in a year sadly oops. Ticked over 15,000 miles while out driving it. My brothers hood vent blockers (don’t know their real name) are almost ready we are just making a couple changes now. I’ve had two people ask me about them I can definitely get more made if you own a Seibon hood. These were just loosely placed on there to fix the width issue.

Hopefully Sunday I’ll have some big updates with my Mugen lip, race bred front spats and a couple other things installed like my new 10.7” Titan front wheels with a 295 tire from a buddy. I know he’s on here but tagged an IP freely and it wasn’t him lol

I am waiting on the last revision from my brother then I’ll get some printed and will let you know! Just pay the print cost and they’re yours

Welp got it all handled today. Mugen lip, front spats, front wheel rock guards and 10.7” Titan wheel test fit. Sad to say I don’t know if the Titans are going to work for me hmmmm

I went subtle on the front spats think it came out well.

Side without them, I think it definitely needed them

Test fit the Titans and had the slightest rub. I think with a 295/30/18 or literally any other suspension I’d be good. Car is just slightly too low :( even with -3 degrees camber up front. Back to the drawing board
