Protection is always smart right? :)

Unfortunately I have to park my car in a parking lot both at work and at home. It's very nerve wracking cause I take care of my cars and keep them well detailed. Recently I got a small door ding and started thinking about get body side molding. I've added it to my cars before but I was thinking of keeping the Civic's molding free. After the ding, I decided to buy the molding and add it.

Interestingly, I think it actually adds to the look of my EX-L. Unlike the Touring, the EX-L doesn't have the chrome door handles to break up the sides of the car and the moldings do the trick. Honda did a great job designing the look of this molding. And if it prevents a ding or two, all the better.

Here's a pic (sorry for the dirty car):

That looks nice! Did you install it yourself?

Yes I did the install. It comes with a template and if you take your time aligning it, it's easy. You have to get it right the first time, though. Once the 3M tape on the back of the molding touches the door, it's pretty much glued in place. There are no do-overs.

Here's a closer view of how it looks. It actually looks even better in person:

It's not a cheap mod; Honda retails it for $217. I got it from a dealer in VA for $146. I think it's definitely worth the price.

Definitely going to add this to my list and the wife's CR-V too. Hadn't really considered it but seeing it on your car I'm really liking the look plus added protection.
