Good winter tire, great price?

Hi guys,

Would you recommend the Michelin X-Ice XI3 (235/40R18) at $135 per? Anyone have opinions on this Michelin tire, reviews at sites seem to be good. Being discontinued I believe.

Michelin X Ice xi3 is primarily a winter tire. And as a winter tire, it gives a comfortable and quiet ride experience along with commendable traction, grip, and braking. But as far as the pricing is concerned it can go $180+ for this size, wondering where did you see the price? ?

I’ve been running General Altimax Arctic for years on all my vehicles. Great tire for a great price. Now if you want the best of the best, you need to look at Nokian Hakkapeliitta. One thing I don’t like about these Michelin and Blizzaks, is that they turn into all seasons about halfway through their life. This defeats the purpose IMO. Generals and Nokian doesn’t do that.

+2 for general altimax. I've ran them on rwd cars and gotten around in the ice and snow better than a 4x4. And they're cheap.

The Cooper Discoverer True North from 4wheelonline is ranging $95-$200. If I'm not mistaken they are offering some discounts on top of that price.
