Purchasing some Niche Gammas in Bronze (Link below) 18x8 +40mm offset to go on my 2017 LX Hatchback. TireRack and CarId keep recommending 225/40/18 but I’ve seen some other threads floating around recommending 235/40/18. I want something that’s not going to effect the speedo. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. https://www.carid.com/niche-wheels/m191-gamma-matte-bronze-830081296.html

As @gtman suggests, just go with the 235/40/18. It's what the factory puts on the models with 18 inch wheels, and your speedo will still be on the money.

I m no expert but I'd say whatever size gets you back to original tire wheel size to stock as possible . You can get tire calculator online . So if u had say 16's with 215 55' then went 225 50 17 I think the 17 inch tire wheel combo is actually smaller . For me I would hate to lose performance because of cosmetics to a point anyways.

I'm running 235/40/18 on my Civic that came with 16 inch wheels as well. Makes a world of difference grip wise and the look of the car changes with 18" wheels too, can't complain.

Profile of the tire will be the same in either 225 or 235. The only difference is 235 is a bit wider but that size is what Honda uses for the Sports and Sport Touring and Si 18-inch wheels. But either is fine and speedo readout will be pretty much the same.

225/40/18 is 0.8% different (smaller) than 215/55/16.
235/40/18 is 0.4% different (bigger) than 215/55/16.

If you want something that’s not going to effect the speedo for 18” will be 231/40/18, but there is not such size.

As the rests said, the best fit is 235/40/18 which is the least effect on the speedo.

Also, as 235/40/18 is only 0.4% bigger and as it wear off 0.4%, the speedo will be the same as 215/55/16.
