I'm quite impressed, for my 2 first tank on my civic SI, I calculated 46.3 and 43.3 mpg. I driving on winter tires at temperature around -10 to -15 degree C.
Impressive - are we talking Imperial gallons (4.55 l) or US gallons? That would be about 20% more gas than in our US Gallon.

My wife got a DUI and doesn't drive right now so I am finally getting some tanks with all me driving and the results are amazing. I'm working on my fourth 600 mile tank in a row.

I'm seeing people getting in the 40s?! Maybe they have a different car/engine, but I have the sport hatch with the 1.5L engine and I average 34mpg according to the dash computer. Is there a subset of this forum that only discusses sport hatch related topics?

What speed are the roads you are driving? 30mph/50kph I average 3.9l and 50mph/80kph I get about 4.5l/100km and freeway/highway speeds I am at about 5.0 to 5.8l/100km with the 1.5t on lx hatch

I'm driving mostly on 55mph back roads where I will go as slow as 45 once in a while if no one is around and I am not in a rush, but will also do 65 if it's busy. All of these tanks include 10-15% city driving and 10-20% highway mixed in. This is my real world every day driving doing the speed limit, but I do accelerate slowly an rarely use A/C.

2018 Civic Si that I've had for about 3 weeks. Just passed 1000 miles and am impressed with the fuel economy. I have a 45 minute drive to work and have averaged 41mpg over the last tank driving 5 over the limit. Typically 65mph and 75mph with slower back roads for the last 15 minutes. Definitely a fun and luckily fuel efficient car.

I’m at around 35 mpg mixed highway/local

Often drive in traffic and/or “short trips ... still double my old SUV

Do these engines (Hatch Sport CVT) improve with break in? I’m at 5300 miles

For whatever reason at highway speeds the 'sport' uses more fuel than the 174 hp model..

Just got 48 mpg per the trip computer, over 140 miles. This was with cruise control on, driving at 70 mph, with some slowing down through construction zones. This was computed on the highway only, no city driving.

This is impressive.

I have gotten around 49 mpg before.

With a tail wind I have gotten more mpg, no eco driving bs.

Keep the tires inflated to spec, use CC, LKAS, air filter cleaned, you will get good mileage on this car.

On a side note, if carbon buildup is happening on the intake valves, I'm not seeing my mpg hurting any

Yikes - over 670 miles on a tank?! :spaz:

The most I've logged is just over 480 and that fill took 11.7 gallons (on a car that has a 12.4 gallon tank, that's cutting it close in my book). I typically get around 41.5 to 42.5 mpg in mixed urban highway, city and small town driving. Driving down country roads around 60 mph I will see mid-50s on my trip mileage, and the calculated tank mileage goes up accordingly when those trips are a significant enough proportion of my driving. The worst tank I've had so far was 37.6 and I was driving aggressively on most of that tank.

I've found driving distance has a HUGE impact on this car's MPGs. Driving for under 5 miles, my trip mpgs are in the high teens to low 20s. But if I go anything much over 5 miles I see 30s; driving anything over 15 I get high 30s to 50s depending on the roads and how I'm driving.
