Just picked my 2016 Honda Civic EX-T on February 21st. Have put about 620 miles on it so far. After that small "break-in" period, I experienced what I considered to be fairly decent gas mileage.

This picture was taken in eastern MA. The route was from Salem, MA to Sudbury, MA during rush hour and then around 8pm on the way back. If anyone is familiar with the area, neither Salem nor Rt. 128 south are anyplace you want to be during rush hour unless you have no other choice.

Tank was about 3/4 full, only me (male, 6'3 ", 225lbs) and a child car seat in the rear.

Stop and go on the way there, smooth suburban then highway driving on the way back. Was in cruise control Eco mode doing 70mph (on a 55mph highway) during the return trip.

Yesterday I made a 78 km trip in my 2016 2.0L EX now with 1900km on it (yes it was recalled). It was on a good secondary highway at 90kph with cruise engaged for most of the time. It started out with a warmed up engine and after a few minutes of stop and go getting out of town I watched the fuel computer start to count down. I was amazed to see it drop below 5L/100km and at destination it read 4.6. I drove a 2006 Prius for 7 years and it never was that good. I'm impressed.

EDIT: That converts to 51 mpg US at 56 mph.

My wife and I took another trip to Orlando and this time we averaged 40 MPG but we also had a strong head wind all the way back that hurt fuel mileage. A lot of things effect fuel mileage.

My mom and I took a trip to Deltona yesterday from our place in southern SC, about a 4 hour trip. I was excited to see the all-highway mpg, but we only averaged about 38. It was pretty windy, though, and we had the aircon on most of the way, so I guess it's still pretty good considering those things. I'm just kinda disappointed it's lower than my daily average in town, lol.

I still have a 2004 Prius which refuses to die (it has 256,000 miles orig battery). That car usually averages mid 40's in suburban driving. In my south Florida suburban driving I'm getting low 40's in my Civic. On the highway at 75-80 I get mid to upper 30's so I'm very impressed. Now if you really drive it like you stole it I can easily see this car getting low to mid 20's. Still not bad for a very entertaining ride.

We've had a bit of a heat wave this week...80s during the afternoon commute has led to ridiculously high gas mileage. This was taken on the ~35 mile trip from work to home, about 80% highway, speeds of 65-85 MPH. MPG really benefits in warmer weather. :)

Yeah...probably won't see those temps around here lol. Actually might going skiing this weekend so I'll be curious to see what the mileage will be blasting up to the mountains.

We have around 450 km on our three week old 2016 Touring. The car have been driven in town with very limited highway driving (2-3 highway exist distance).

The fuel gauge indicates 7.9L/100 km or just under 30mpg. I can't wait to get it out on the highway on a warm day.

I know it's obvious, but I still get a little amazed at how much various regions can affect the fuel economy. I can guarantee that no matter how I drive at any time of day, I will never, ever hit 51.9mpg in the NYC area.

Yea i haven't seen those numbers yet having fun with the car right now lol staying around average 28-30 mpg but the weather has been cold lately, as its warming up i can already tell the gas is lasting a lot longer. Also i drive with eco off and i am getting better gas mpg than with eco on.

It's was around 74 degrees when I took that. Before that I was averaging about 26 mpg. I never have Econ mode on.

It will do better than that. Many trips from Napanee to Belleville and return on the 401 at 120Km/Hr I average about 6.1 L/100km.

I was getting ready to merge into another highway and noticed my mileage so I snapped a quick picture. My best so far.
