I wonder if Honda could not change the injectors strength (not with just the software to the ECU) by physically swapping out to not so powerful injectors and still be around the MPG they are quoting to consumers at sale? Would that help the dilution issue?
The fuel dilution issue in the 1.5L T is being caused by Honda's engine managing heat to efficiently. In extremely cold climates where the car is being driven short distances, the engine is not reaching operating temp, therefore fuel in the oil is not being dispersed and begins to build up. When the climate control is being used (heater/defroster), this is exacerbated. Honda's fix for this problem is by changing some perimeters so the engine warms up faster and heat is not directed right away into the cabin when the heater is turned on. Unfortunately when GDI is used, there will always be fuel getting into the oil, but when the engine runs at operating temps it is able to evaporate
