Now that I have oil pressure and oil pressure gauges, I have found that it takes a lot longer than I expected for the engine to warm up.

From a cold start, it takes over 15 minutes of driving at 75 mph for the oil temperature to stabilize. (Ambient temperature 75F.)

The usual rule of thumb is engine warmup takes twice as long as coolant gauge stabilizes, but over 15 minutes works out to be over three times as long for me.

YMMV.

Could you provide info on your oil and pressure setup?

What oil warmup times are you seeing for in-city driving with lots of red-light stopping/starting?

Sorry, I don't know. I very rarely commute via car, and never with the Type R - too many pedals :).
And you paid MSRP + ADM (exhorbitive dealer markup) for what reason exactly. It's a Honda not a Bentley or Rolls Royce and it was meant to be driven. Sad state of affairs unfolding here...

OP, this morning it was about 8 degrees Fahrenheit, -2 with windchill, and it took my CTR about 12 minutes to warm up. That was just turning my car on, getting out to scrape ice off of the windshield, then driving about 27 miles to work. I did stop at Starbucks about three minutes after start-up, too.

It's a shame Honda didn't make oil temperature available. I wait until my oil hits 50 deg. C on my Golf R before I start driving spiritedly.

Sadly my commute to work is about 20 minutes and it seems to take well over half of that for the heat to do any real work. Temp is zero F today in sunny New England!

No idea about oil temps, but I can tell you that my butt is sure cold!

I miss heated seats......

That's too low. You need to get the temp above 212 to burn off moisture, drive it harder...

FWIW, my oil pressure / temp gauge (23 psi @ idle and 174 degrees F) after almost 10 miles of city driving in -2F ambient. (The thing beside the gauge is a Holley Sniper shift light.)

Wow, I love that set up. It’s nice that the red digits match the theme color.

I don't think that my oil temp (where it is measured, at the oil filter) will go over 200F until May - unless I block off the intercooler and radiator.
