I had an hour for fun and couldn’t resist taking the CTR for a drive. Not sure what I was expecting. I only get around 15mpg on fun drives. With a small fuel tank, frequent visits to the gas station!
One of my biggest complaint for the FK8 is the small fuel tank, the other one is stock sound system is really sucks

That's true but now may push to the boundary that I have to pay $10k extra for the new luxury tax in canada that announced last week
Ouch! I hope it gets to you before the tax kicks in.

M2C was more challenging for me as it also has quite a small fuel tank. Small nit though. The 23.7 gallon tanks on my 911 are nice for putting on uninterrupted fun miles.

I had a 720S before the 765LT. Low fuel light comes on when there’s about 5 gallons left is my estimate and I stop for gas every ~120 miles. With the 15% shorter final drive and more power, I am expecting slightly worse with the 765LT (waiting for full PPF at the moment).

I couldn’t resist and went for another fun drive. I very much appreciate the ride comfort in confront mode for bad roads.

I am torn on active sound at the moment. I appreciate the extra volume in +R. It can feel loud at times. I also find the natural sound pleasing so might have to experiment with unplugging it eventually.

The CTR is great fun! 600+ miles in less than a week.

Eventually, I will likely put some 18x9.5 wheels (and tires) on. My criterion are forged, 1-piece, no hub rings, ~+45 offset, high quality, and good looks.

Titan seems to be an option. Of course, custom wheels like Forgeline and Supreme Power would work too.

With these criterion, what would you go with?

One week in, ~680 miles of driving enjoyment. Incredible car. For my use, a larger fuel tank would allow even more focused driving enjoyment but my bad for only getting ~15mpg.

I look forward to putting 18” wheels and tires on for an even more comfortable ride. Starting to think about maybe wider wheels and tires as well (I wasn’t expecting the lack of traction in 1st and 2nd).

18x9.5 is the current thinking. I am willing to accept geometry change trade offs. I would not want the wheels to “poke” though. What’s your take on the following offsets?
+50
+45
+40

I'm running 18x9.5 with a +45 offset. Tires are 255/40. It's a tiny tiny bit protruding past being flush. Looks perfect to me-

Thanks! Looks great! Do you have some more photos showing the rear wheel maybe?

Are you on stock height and alignment? I’m leaning towards +45 also.

Completely stock suspension. Here's rear wheel-
Thank you! Looks pretty much perfect for what I’m looking for. Are these Titan-7 wheels?

Also, curious to hear your choice of 255/40 vs 265/35.

That's a negative- these are Motegi Traklite 3.0. Original first choice was 265/35 but due to a major backlog on Michelin Pilot Sport 4S in that size (would be waiting another 8-10 weeks) I went with 255/40. No complaints at all. I do like how beefy the tire looks with the 40 thickness.

Yeah, I think the 255/40 fills the wheel wells better. How’s the ride? I imagine +R mode would ride pretty great with your setup.

It's super comfy I love it- way smoother ride than stock in all settings. I do believe 255/40 is a tiny bit bigger in total diameter than 265/35 from the tire calculator I was using.

Forgot to ask, what tires? Improved traction in 1st and 2nd gear under acceleration?

Set of Pilot Super Sport 4s's will do that + get a Perrin rear motor mount insert - it solves all wheel hopping from takeoff - adds an insignificant amount of vibration if stopped with AC on / sometimes (totally worthwhile tradeff)

Good to know there’s a relatively simple solution to the occasional wheel hops.

I am starting with a conservative setup 18x8.5 245/40 Michelin PS4S. If 1st and 2nd could still use improvements, I’d consider going to 265/35 (9.5 wheels).

As always, enjoying the car in the current state while exploring/trying mods is all part of the fun.
