Congrats to the FK8. A few years back, I shopped around M2C, FK8 and 718 S too. Was biased toward on M2C since like its looks, the number and also am a long term BMW customer but then no BMW dealer willing to let me test drive the car and the attitude is like "If you request to test drive a M which meant you can't afford it". So I end bought a 718 GTS and a FK8 then have a 2022 GT4 allocation to replace my totalled GTS.
Great pair! Hopefully, you are not impacted by the engine situation.

I own an M2 on the side - I like it enough to keep it - it's apples and oranges - but the Type R is the better overall car for entertainment / utility etc..

Shockingly good car lol
The M2 is definitely going to be a sought after car as cars keep getting bigger, heavier, auto, and move away from pure internal combustion engine. If I can, I’d have kept the M2C too. The inline 6 is fantastic. The look and form factor is a sweet spot.

Mine is a 2017 1/150 Performance Edition - the precursor to the Competition Edition that became 'standard option' - sounds awesome drives like a dream so I am very happy to have it still.

I’ve had my CTR since early February—going on 2k miles. I’m glad you are enjoying your car—reading about your driving impressions is refreshing! Congrats!
Do you plan on keeping your CTR stock? How do you primary use your CTR?

Any mods on your M2? Every time I see one, I miss it!

Well, yes & no. My GT4 is not being build yet so for sure not being affect by the stop sale but it may cause delay of my build

Just took delivery a day ago. The FK8 Civic Type R is a fantastic car! I am looking forward to putting lots of enjoyable miles on it. The somewhat comparable cars prior to the Type R was a Focus RS and M2 competition. For my use, I think the Type R will be perfect. Even with great shifter mods, I was not truly happy with the shifter feel on the Focus RS or the M2 competition. The type R ride is great and I’m expecting even more comfortable when I go to an 18” setup.

I will share more of my perspective as I go along.

Hopefully, you will find it entertaining. I have included clue photos of my 4 other fun cars. One probably has to know these cars quite well to be able to tell what they are. The photos show unique features that identify the cars. Happy to share more clues or answer questions too. I’ve learned from this community and would like to provide value.

Delay is probably better than having to deal with getting a new engine though.

I would say it is the combination that creates the magic. The whole package comes together and it is fantastic! So glad CTR is finally available in North America.

Which engine does the Performance Edition have?
The N55B30T0, 3.0L I6 Twin Scroll Turbo, direct injection

The Performance edition had revised suspension, tune, exhaust, and some other bits that were cosmetic like all blacked out kidney and side mirrors which the competition edition that followed it adopted as standard. It sounds very unique due to the limited engine run, I'd say a lot better than a newer M2, though the newer ones have about 50 more hp. (420 vs 370 in mine)

Phenomenal car and engine, I'm glad I got the one I did!

Awesomeness! The Internet would have one convinced that only S55 is acceptable (kinda like GT3T is equal to or better than the R). I disagree with both.:D

I had a 135i with the N55 engine and think it is under appreciated. Different than the S55 and I would say either one can be “better” depending on what one is after.

I had an hour for fun and couldn’t resist taking the CTR for a drive. Not sure what I was expecting. I only get around 15mpg on fun drives. With a small fuel tank, frequent visits to the gas station!

That's true but now may push to the boundary that I have to pay $10k extra for the new luxury tax in canada that announced last week
