Hey yo,

anyone currently running a full CARB-bolt on setup? I am really interested in making this car as legit as possible with as much as possible.

Feedback on what options people have gone with helps.
thanks.

Why not just get a CARB Flashpro and call it a day?

I was already planning on Hondata, just wanted to know experience with the handful of other legal options. Just want to get the most power i can get out of it...legally. Intercooler & intakes(mostly for sound) feedback is cool.

call me paranoid but I got waaaayyyyy too many fixit tickets back in the day and I don't feel like dealing with it again.

I believe Mishimoto has their intakes CARB approved.

Below are CARB compliant:
CARB FlashPro
Mishimoto Intake (Not going to add power but is nice if you want the sound)
Intercooler
Cat back exhaust (Not going to add power but is nice if you want the sound)

Nothing wrong with doing a CARB compliant setup if you just want a bit more power and don't want to worry about passing smog.

I mean why would you care if it's CARB or not? You have 6 years before you even have to worry about emissions

Ehh not sure why one would bother staying carb on these cars.

The carb bolt-ons get you nothing but some sound (basically). Just get a k-tuner (or non-carb FP if you really want) and a TSP, etc tune. Worse case, spend the 5 minutes and flash it back to stock.

I just prefer not to have the headache & I'm all for staying legal. I'm not interested in needing to visit the state ref anytime ever again.

My current bolt-on setup is just a Mishimoto Intake (CARB Legal - have to request a sticker if the box did not come with one) and an Invidia R400 Exhaust (past the catalytic converter and is connected to the front pipe). Since the catalytic converter is on the down pipe, the front pipe can technically be upgraded as well. Thankfully our cars are not that loud when it comes to exhausts, especially if they have a resonator and mufflers. The only time that the exhaust can be loud (And this is from the information I've gathered through this forum, and YouTube.) is if you get wider catless downpipe and frontpipe combo.

I know Hondata has a CARB Flashpro edition, not sure about K-tuner though.

I'm still debating on a Front Pipe though.

California is a bad scene. I would get a 25 year old classic ... You can maybe get close to say a 1997 toyota supra jdm or something. Then you can bypass all the silly nonsense.
