Honda didn't switch parts - a change in the supplier's process resulted in this defect . A longer explanation as to how this came about is located in the Defect Information Report I linked to in post #12.

Look at the date printed on the label inside the driver's door frame. If it's 06/18 to 01/29, yours will probably be recalled.

So where are the 1.4 million recalled vehicles? This table covers only a fraction of that number.
What's more important, mine, although 2018, is 8 months prior to these brackets, so I'm not in it, if this table is complete.
I guess the 1.4 million in the world, and the table only covers 136,000 in the US according to the news link?

1.4 million is the total number of affected Hondas worldwide. In the US, 136,057 are affected.

My sticker says 03/19. It seems only some made in 2018 are affected?

To the doomsday naysayers, would it make you feel better that this problem also affects Ford, Toyota, Mazda, Mitsubishi, and Subaru?

This is strange - the roadshow website said 2018-2019 Honda Civic Hatchback. But following the Honda recall link (https://owners.honda.com/service-maintenance/recalls?id=) and putting in 2019 Civic Hatchback does not show anything ....
