These would fit a type-R? I was under the impression that a 17 wouldn't clear the front brake calipers

I've seen others post in the forum that they fit the 17x8 225/45/17, but I can't promise that they'd clear. They came off my blobeye STI which cleared that Brembo caliper FWIW.

A 17" wheel will not clear the FK8 front brake setup simply due to the 350MM/13.8" brake rotor + Brembo caliper combined diameter.

You also mentioned that these came off of your blobeye STI, which totally has a different lug bolt pattern than the FK8 which is a 5X120 lug bolt pattern.
