What’s up y’all, I love this mod, just a question to everyone, I have a buzzing sound when map lights are on after the mod, anyone has the sane sound ?
It happens before turning on the engine or when turning it off!!
I haven't noticed that. Sounds like it could be a sketchy connection somewhere. This mod shouldn't cause problems since the Civic sedans come from the factory with this function.

I’m guessing maybe the wire was unplugged correctly or something then . It’s a lite buzzing sound on the map lights ...
I have a oem led fk8 dome light so I hope that’s not why . I’ll recheck connections and report back !

EDIT: I found some more leftover OEM wires with the terminal attached. Unfortunately, they are a little shorter than the original ones I was selling. I am able to extend the wires using non-factory wiring. If you're ok with this and still interested, please PM me. Thanks.

For Sale: $5 shipped

Map Light Mod Jumper Wire (with two small zip ties). The jumper wire is an OEM wire with OEM terminal. The wire you will get will be blue or yellow.

Info/Instructions
This mod allows the map light to turn on simultaneously with the dome light when the car unlocks or when the unlocked door is opened. Map light will also function independently like normal.

Assuming you know how to remove your map light and dome light (pop off the lenses to reveal two screws to remove each), all you need additonally is a metal clothes hanger to fish the wire.

The trick to fishing the wire through is to start from the map light side and end at the dome light. Do not bend over the tip of the clothes hanger; it makes it too blunt and difficult to fish through the headliner. Once the clothes hanger is through, tape the stripped end of the wire to the hanger and pull the jumper wire through.

Now take the terminal end of the jumper wire and insert it into the open spot in the white OEM connector (the larger one towards the driver side). You will hear a small click which let's you know that the terminal is secured. The orientation of the terminal going into the connector is important. (See pic below). Secure the jumper wire to the factory harness using a small zip tie; I used electrical tape instead.

Now take the stripped end of the jumper wire and zip tie it to the dome light harness. Secure the stripped wire by wedging it in between the ground terminal of the dome light and the plastic housing. You may need a small flathead screwdriver to pry the ground terminal away a little from the plastic in order to insert the stripped end of the jumper wire.

Reinstall the two light units and enjoy.

Hey, PM me with info. Id like to get one

sorry to revive an old thread, but do you have a part number for that wire by chance?
