Front skid plate Philips bolt seized ; fixed

During my oil change this morning, one of the two Philips head bolts was seized. It broke off in the threaded hole.

After repairing the whole thing (see pictures) and to prevent it, I greased these two bolts.
To prevent them from unscrewing by themselves, I installed a teeths washer on each bolt.
My 2018 Civic : 64k miles

As a prevention I did the same thing on my wife's Civic. ; grease and teeths washer. A bolt was starting to rust.

After drilling a hole in the broken bolt :
I redid some threads for a stock bolt I have.

The threaded hole has started to turn in place. Impossible to use it. I blocked it with a bent nail

Here is the new bolt before a final installation under the car. The lock washer you see is not the one I used.
You can see the small nail head.

If this problem happened to me, it can also happen to you.

What would the delear do if this bolt broke during your next oil change?
Would he replace the plate at your expense?

I replaced the philips head screws with regular 10mm (m6x1.0) bolts and for the twist clips I removed all that.

Added m6x1.0 clips and used 10mm bolts with washers. So everything underneath is held up by 10mm bolts.

I used some liquid Molly on the threads. Since day 1.

I'm at 100,000 km on my car now and I have no rust. The Molly really helps keep things clean. I'm still on my original shield.

Liquid Moly it is only a grease

Permatex anti-seize is excellent for these also.

Anti -seize may do the job.

Do we need to use this much more expensive product than grease ?
Anybody may have grease at home.

The way your bolts were rusted, maybe you should have used anti-seize. It's a bit more expensive but a small can will last you more than 15 years.

I have a pound of grease at home.

As far as I'm concerned you can use anything you want. All I said was that anti-seize is also excellent for these bolts.
