Has anyone seriously considered a price out for a Boost Blue Recolor? I am thinking about getting the Boost Blue color code, and going to MAACO for a quote on how much it would cost to respray the whole car in Boost Blue for the forums. I will keep you all posted.

I like my color I am just wondering if the forums already considered this, and provided this information.

I know a recolor is possible , because Honda Pro Jason resprayed his car Phoenix yellow.

I just need the boost blue color code.

I'm no paint and body expert but I've heard enough Maaco horror stories for this thread to send chills down my spine. There is nothing wrong with having a car properly repainted but I'm not sure that is going to happen at Maaco.

i never considered it because the cost to do a color change the right way too expensive.
ive done my own work at a bodyshop before when i did a full color change inside and out on my 240 and boy it was a lot of time.

maaco imo would not be the place i would take it to if i was to get it done though.

Yeah don't mean to beat a dead horse but I heard MAACO is trash af you'll prob see better results taking 10 tabs of acid maybe sprinkle in some spice and 30 bars of xanax and doing it yourself

Only if you never (and I mean never) expect to sell your CTR.

HondaProJason did this with his yellow Type-R, as you mentioned but it took a long time and a lot of effort.

To be honest, you'd have to be mad to take this on unless the car was somehow making you money. To do it right will be very expensive and to do a shortcut paint job would be a tragedy for even a second hand FK8.

Yeah honestly for a good quality paint job you're looking at 10000 +. I bought paint in the past and even painted my own cars but the paint alone would cost me 3 to $5,000 for the good stuff. honestly if I even considered a color change option I would just have it vinyl-wrapped. It ends up protecting the original factory paint if you ever decide to go back.

Had my 78 Celica GT liftback painted LeMans blue at Maaco back in the day. Picked them over Earl Scheib’s.

I would definitely look at the wrap instead of paint. Besides, then you could go silver metallic or something totally unique.
